Last Day Of Being Serbian: day 2
Only 48 hours to go! Nobody ever told me that I am a tipical Serbian. Does anybody know what would that be?

- Sanja Mitrovic is theatre director and performer born in Yugoslavia, based in Amsterdam. She is a founder and artistic director of Stand Up Tall Productions (2009). In 2010 Mitrovic was awarded the prestigious Dutch BNG Nieuwe Theatermakers Prijs for the best young director for her production “Will You Ever Be Happy Again?” which is touring Europe to critical acclaim since 2008 (selected among five best performances of the 2009/10 season by magazine TIN). Mitrović is interested in the notion of documentary in theatre and its relation to the social, political and cultural realities of our times. Her performances are structured around the idea of montage combining theatre, performance, dance and visual arts. As documentary material she often uses personal stories and testimonies which she contrasts with official historical accounts. The form resulting from such a combination she terms a “docu-tale”. Permeated with subtle humour and sharp analysis, her works are marked by an urgency to explore the influence of the collective processes as well as important political and social issues on the private lives.

Hm, there is no such thing as typical Serbian.
And I must disagree with Gaby on this.
It is funny how people accept stereotypes(negative or positive).
If that's true, than we can say:
1.Italians are the best lovers
2.Everyone in Ireland knows how to sing.
I am wondering what picture people had about Germans after World War 2?
Was it good to say:
All Germans are Nazis?
Did Germans had this picture about them self?
So, this is wrong point of view:

I could be typical Serbian, although typical is a category which, at least for me, doesn't exist, but I can't find myself anywhere on the list that Gabi wrote.
So, we must try to be objective.

It seems that these two are seriously getting into the wrong directions. You should go to the Facebook and leave the personal messages there. Tipical for the Serbian people - lot of talking/writting, but nobody knows in the end what would be a good description of a common Serbian person.
We are trying to say that it is impossible to "describe" typical person of any nationality.
What do you expect we should say?
Maybe, Serbians are warm people or Serbian girls are the prettiest or every Serbian knows how to use the knife?
I don't get it?
There is no such thing as typical...

No, I don't believe in "tipical" either, but imagine you are in a situation of having to recognize what is a Serbian in you? I am also interested to hear something positive, a Serbian in yourself that you REALLY like and you can be proud of.

I did read the section puzzling and your text there (all the compliments), but I still didn't read some concrete, nice words for Serbian people. What would be something specific that you can be proud of coming form that country?
